The TRS Rocks

I wanted to take everything. When you are moving country, you kinda don' t want to leave your new stuff behind.

Like my relatively new Core 2 Duo 3.2Ghz system with DDR1000 ram and 24" screen....

But bringing a full system onboard a plane and then travelling who knows where isn't exactly convenient.

So they went to friends...

But hey, bringing a computer is a heck of a lot easier than smuggling a gun in my luggage like I did at Shanghai Pudong International.

But I still needed a puter otherwise I'd go competely batty. Since I loved the Core 2 Duo, I bought the cheapest laptop with one I could find.
A MacBook Core 2 Duo 2Ghz. I personally never liked macs, and even now, I couldn't say that I'm a convert, from the pic you can see I like the choice in operating systems offered.

What I can say though is that the hardware (although not the screen which lacks colour saturation unless you are right in front of it) is superb. It has the best wireless reception of any laptop I have ever seen by a long shot. This can help while you are travelling and need a quick way of contacting home. It's a good powerful travel laptop and cheap.

RRP$2,099
Educational RRP $1,888
After TRS $1,717

TRS? Tourist Refund Scheme is nice little tax break that entitles you to a GST refund! If you purchase something within 30 days of you leaving the country (for any reason, you don't have to be leaving for good), then at the airport, if you take it as carry on luggage, you'll get your GST payed on that item or items refunded to a credit card, cheque or bank card.

Sounds to good to be true? Well I don't care, just use it!

It starts!

Well I'm here in London, it's been a couple weeks now and this blog is about 4 weeks overdue.

I'm an Australian here in London looking for professional work in Europe's most populated city. My main motivator is a the experience, but more importantly, the money!

Wages here in London are relatively high for professionals, but so is the cost of living. So in this blog I'll either have in-depth articles on specific topics or just what I got up to during the day.

So sit back and hopefully my next post has better video or pics to keep you from falling asleep.
